The participants tested clearly defined several
usability stumbling blocks with the current Six Flags website.
- It is too difficult to get back to the home page from the ticketing
area because there is no direct link back to the Six Flags Over
Georgia website. Although the ticketing area has opened up in
a new window, it cannot be assumed that the user will realize
what has happened and will not know to simply click on the first
window to return to their original departure point.
- Although some participants found the directions, a lot of time
was spent locating them. There is a justification for making adjustments
to the site to increase user success in this task
- Sub-navigation went completely unnoticed by participants. Successful
identification of available navigation may have often aided in
goal achievement.
- The calendar on the home page with hover effects on the dates
outlining the park hours for the day went unnoticed to half of
the participants. Users generally had a difficult time finding
the park hours. A pdf of the park hours is also made available
on the current site, however clicking on the pdf also created
usability problems for similar reasons as that of the ticketing
area. The pdf opens in a new window as well. Again, creating confusion
to users who are not aware of the window behavior.
